Northern Rivers Press was formed by a group of regional academics to support the publication of scholarly research based upon regional history and culture. While regional works have limited print runs and distribution networks their regional importance cannot be overstated and so the commitment was to maintain high scholarly and commercial standards.
While predominantly concerned with the North Coast region of New South Wales, Northern Rivers Press looks more widely—where an approach in another region may have implications for regional studies in general.
Northern Rivers Press also undertakes consultancy roles in the historical field. These have included community, commercial and private research, presentations and publishing activities.
